MH Marathi Shala's First Ever Ganesha Building and Drawing Workshop: A Clay-Mazing Day Filled with Laughter, Laddus, and a Lot of Love!

MH Marathi Shala's First Ever Ganesha Building and Drawing Workshop: A Clay-Mazing Day Filled with Laughter, Laddus, and a Lot of Love!

Greetings from both sides of the globe! Whether you're sipping on chai in Maharashtra or guzzling down coffee in America, get ready to delve into an experience that was nothing short of magical and messy (in a fun way, of course).

Setting The Clay-ge: Volunteers To The Rescue!

It's 9:30 am PST, a time when most of us would rather be snuggled in bed, catching those last few Z's. But not our volunteers. Oh no, they were already buzzing around, setting up chairs, projectors, and doing all sorts of technological wizardry faster than you can say "Ganpati Bappa Morya!" These backstage heroes were slicing clay like master chefs and arranging drawing sheets as if curating an art gallery.

The Arrival of Mini Picassos and Michelangelos

Just as the clock struck 10, in marched our enthusiastic scholars—or as I'd like to call them, the mini Picassos and Michelangelos of Marathi Shala. Faces glowing brighter than the Diwali lanterns, these little geniuses settled down after the divine Sarasvati Vandana kicked off the day's proceedings.

From Clay Lumps to Divine Idols

With the Ganesha-building video as our "YouTube Guru," our scholars got down to business. Trust me, it was a sight to behold. Fingers pinched, palms rolled, and clay magically transformed into divine Ganeshas under their dexterous touch. Let's just say, Ganesha was definitely getting some adorable new avatars!

The Show-and-Tell & Puja Ceremony

After the hard (but fun!) work, it was time for the grand showcase. All the Ganeshas were laid out on a table like finalists in a beauty pageant, eagerly awaiting the judges' verdict. And then we moved on to the Ganesha Aarathi—Sukha Karata Aarti in full swing! This was the divine crescendo of the day, a moment that made every struggle worth it.

But Wait, There's Laddu!

As if crafting your own deity wasn't a reward in itself, the pièce de résistance was the Motichur Laddu! Ah, those golden globes of joy were relished by everyone—parents, scholars, and even that volunteer who swore he was on a diet.

Farewell But Not Goodbye

It was time to wrap up, but not before every kid carefully carried their Ganesha masterpiece home, no doubt soon to occupy a place of pride on some mantel.

A Standing Ovation for the Volunteers

A massive shoutout to all volunteers! Your finesse in managing the chaos, guiding our scholars, and then cleaning up after like it was some kind of an "After-Party Cleanup Challenge" was just remarkable.

So, that's a wrap on our first ever Ganesha building and drawing workshop. Whether you're in America or Maharashtra, our message is the same: Come join us on this clay-mazing journey where culture transcends borders, and the only limit is how far your imagination (and clay) can stretch!

Regards,

Balasaheb and The MH Marathi Shala Team

Celebrating Marathi Bhasha Din at Marathi Shala: A Blend of Learning and Cultural Pride

Celebrating Marathi Bhasha Din at Marathi Shala: A Blend of Learning and Cultural Pride Yesterdays's session at Marathi Shala was not just another day of learning; it was a vibrant celebration of Marathi Bhasha Din, a day dedicated to cherishing and promoting the Marathi language. The Morning Begins with Warmth and Devotion As the Batch 1 scholars arrived at 10 AM, the air was filled with anticipation. The session kicked off with a warmup kavayat activity, led by Jayshree Ji and Amita Ji, setting a lively tone for the day. Following this, we delved into a moment of divine learning with the mantra “Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu,” a beautiful homage to the gods and teachers who enlighten our paths.     A Showcase of Marathi Sentences One of the highlights of today's celebration was when each scholar stepped for...
