A Colorful and Patriotic Republic Day Celebration at Marathi Shala

Preparations and Decorations Set the Stage

Date: Jan 27, 2024

Today, Marathi Shala was not just a place of learning but a vibrant hub of patriotism and cultural pride. Our dedicated volunteers and teachers began their preparation work yesterday evening, adorning the space with tricolor balloons and strings. This morning, they added more decorations, including the Indian and American flags, creating an environment that truly elevated the spirit of 'Desh Bhakti'.

The Festive Atmosphere and Scholar Participation

As patriotic songs filled the air, our Batch 1 scholars arrived at 10 am, ready to dive into the day's activities. The session began with a homework check on fun facts about the Ram Mandir, followed by a recap of all the Swar ( [a], [aa], [i], [ii], [u], [oo], [e], [ai], [o], [au], अं [am], अः [a:]) and Vyanjane ( [k], [kh], [g], [gh], [ch], [chh], [j], [jh]).

At 10:30 am, our Batch 2 scholars joined in, and together with Batch 1, they practiced the national anthem, जन-गण-मन अधिनायक जय हे. The highlight of the celebration was at 11:00 am when we brought both the Indian and American flags into the classroom. The rendition of जन-गण-मन by our scholars, joined by volunteers and parents, was a beautiful and unifying moment.

Sweet Treats and Nostalgic Moments

The celebration reached its peak with the distribution of tricolor cupcakes, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the kids and even some parents. For the parents, we had chocolate chip cookies, evoking nostalgic memories of childhood. It was a delightful experience, reliving those cherished moments.

Gratitude and Acknowledgments

A big thank you to all the kids, teachers, volunteers, and parents who came together to show their spirit and enthusiasm. Your participation made this Republic Day celebration at Marathi Shala truly special and memorable. It was a day not just of learning but of celebrating our rich heritage and the values that bind us together.

As we wrapped up the celebration, it was clear that these moments of cultural connection are what make Marathi Shala a unique and cherished community. We look forward to many more such celebrations, where learning and cultural pride go hand in hand.
