A Day in MH Marathi Shala: When Akbar Met Birbal and Kids Turned Linguists- Class3

A Day in MH Marathi Shala: When Akbar Met Birbal and Kids Turned Linguists - Class3

Hello folks!

If you've ever wondered what a Marathi Shala session with eager scholars looks like, boy, do we have a treat for you! Buckle up because today’s class was nothing short of a rollercoaster of enlightenment, fun, and some light detective work courtesy of Akbar and Birbal. 🕵️‍♂️

Batch 1: The Young Recappers and Their Family Trees

In today's episode of "Did the Kiddos Remember?", we started with a recap of names and school affiliations. And let me tell you, these kids have got their memory game on point. Most of them got their names right, as well as their friends' names, which was truly a sight to behold—or rather, hear.

With that warm-up done, we dived straight into the complicated maze that is immediate family relations. You know, the uncles, aunts, and cousins twice removed you see during family get-togethers back in India. Now, whether they will remember these relations when it comes to Diwali gifts is a story for another time.

Next, we transitioned into the world of Marathi greetings and frequently used phrases. How do you do? How don't you do? All covered.

"Did the Kiddos Remember?"

Akbar and Birbal Turn Detectives

And then came the pièce de résistance! A scintillating tale of Akbar and Birbal on the hunt for a mischievous thief. The kids were so invested in the story, I could practically see tiny detective badges forming on their shirts.

Homework Unveiled

The homework for our young scholars? To name as many games as they can, but in Marathi! Yes, "Pac-Man" counts, but how do you say that in Marathi? Points for creativity here!

Batch 2: The Return of Puja Ji

Drumroll, please! 🥁 Our beloved Puja Ji is back, and the kids were ecstatic. If excitement had a color, the room would have turned into a rainbow.

Wordplay & Sports Day

Puja Ji masterfully wove the topic of sports into an interactive word-catching game. Imagine a bunch of sprightly young minds catching words like "Khel" (Sports), "Bahirache" (Outdoor), "Seema" (Border), and "Jinkane" (Win) faster than you can say "Wicket!" The scoreboard was ticking, and these kids were hitting linguistic sixers!

Calligraphy and Philosophy

With newly learned words in their arsenal, kids proceeded to write their names in Marathi, complete with the poetic etymology of their names. It’s like the "Wheel of Fortune," but in Marathi and without the wheel.

Homework for Batch 2

And for homework, the scholars have the herculean task of discussing their ideal relatives. I hope Uncle Bob, who keeps a candy stash just for you, makes the cut.

Until Next Time

So there you have it, another day at MH Marathi Shala, where we're pretty sure the kids are not just learning Marathi but are also gearing up to solve real-world problems. Like decoding what our relatives actually mean when they say, "You've grown so much since I last saw you!"

Until next week, when we will return with more Marathi sentences, stories, and undoubtedly, more humor, stay tuned! 🌟

Also, we are starting Marathi Alphabets soon!

P.S.: Parents, remember that homework is your child's responsibility, but any help from your side will be counted as extra love by the MH Marathi Shala team. Happy learning!

Thank you!

The Unforgettable Dasara Workshop at Marathi Shala: A Comprehensive Overview

The Unforgettable Dasara Workshop at Marathi Shala: A Comprehensive Overview   The atmosphere was electric today at Marathi Shala as children from Batch 1 and Batch 2 streamed in, eager for a day filled with learning and fun. Today was an exhilarating day at our Marathi Shala, brimming with cultural insights, creative activities, and community bonding. The agenda was packed, the excitement intense, and what unfolded was nothing short of amazing. The clock struck 10:10 a.m., and we delved into our first activity. Part 1: Revisiting the Melody of Marathi Vowels Starting from the basics, we dived into a robust review of Marathi vowels, specifically from अ (a) to ऊ (ū). To make this exercise more relatable for our American-raised Marathi scholars, we displayed pictures of commonly used items in America, each corresponding to one of these vowels. Children's voices reverberated with enthusiasm as they practiced each word in unison. Part 2: A Musical Break - Welco...
